Like all Filipinos, I was excited about Manny Pacquiao winning his fight last Saturday in Las Vegas. Aside from being one of the greatest boxers, he’s now proving that he may be a super hero too. Newspapers in the Philippines are saying that during his fights, there are absolutely no crimes in the Philippines; even the criminals are watching TV! And if you’ve ever been to Manila, you know a crimeless Manila, even for a few hours, truly is a wonder to behold!

When pressed for the reason behind several hours’ peace in Metro Manila yesterday, Barias said “the people, even criminals, stayed in their respective homes to watch the fight.” Pacquiao won by knockout in the ninth round.

I first heard about this from all the buzz in the Brooklyn blogosphere and have since visited it 3 times.

What is it? The artist says that it’s a secret tunnel that goes from New York to London. But, basically, it’s just 2 webcams in London and New York. Regardless, it was fun to visit. Of course, I couldn’t resist trying to get the people in London to visit my blog…

If you look in the background of the first picture, you can see how they’re setting up the waterfalls under the Brooklyn Bridge!

Mark doesn’t need it since he’s married, but an ILoveWhiteRice shirt may be the perfect item for a single person. If Mark was able to attract this many people, “I just wanted to let you know that I went running in San Francisco yesterday and two different people commented on my bright yellow I Love White Rice.com tshirt!”, think of how many people will come up to you! Get your own now!

Sometimes the best thing to do on a holiday weekend is to stay in the city and really enjoy it. Free of tourists and of most residents, for those who stay behind, New York can feel like it’s just yours. For this Memorial Day weekend, we ran around Dumbo and Brooklyn Heights and played in the hot sun and beautiful weather.

You’ll find art on every block in Dumbo.

This guy also did those little figures at the station on 14th and 8th.

Along with art, we saw guys skateboarding down the hill on Columbia Heights.

We ended the weekend by hanging out on the astroturf in Cadman Plaza. I like how it’s so squishy!

…beach wedding. I’ve been to a wedding on the beach, but never one where the bride and groom later arrive on their boat. It was a perfect day for a wedding!

Congrats to Trent and Stacy!
