What started out as a normal Thursday ended with me having a very high possibility of being on TV (March 4 on BET)…

‘Sitting at my desk at work, I got a call asking if I could go to BET’s Fashion Show that night. I didn’t really know what to expect, but what the hell, I said yes. I brought Jeff with me and we got to Hammerstein Ballroom around 7; it was early, so at first, the venue was pretty empty. We had general tickets which meant we were on the floor and with an hour to kill, we planted ourselves right at the end of the runway and waited. Soon the place filled with people (a majority of which were people that won free tickets from 106 & Park) and since the show was getting filmed to be aired on BET in March, we were made to practice screaming, cheering and acting “crazy” over and over again until 8pm. The cameras filmed us screaming and clapping, clapping only, and then cheering crazy. It was pretty tedious and Jeff and I were like the tired old people in a sea of screaming kids.

Finally, it was 8pm, the cameras started rolling, and P. Diddy came out. He introduced the show, the cameras panned to the screaming crowd, and then Diddy flubbed a line which meant we had to do the whole thing all over again. This pattern was pretty much repeated all night – host came out, shots of screaming audience, and then host would mess up a line, repeat.. By this time, we at least got to see people perform so it wasn’t as tiring as just doing clapping shots for an hour. Along with Diddy, we saw Missy Elliot and her Adidas line, the dancers from Uniqlo!, Zac Posen and Pharrell Williams (where was Chad?!), Snoop and his wife, Nelly and his Apple Bottom Jeans, Lauren London who was in This Christmas, and some former America’s Next Top Models (Toccara and Jaslene).

Now for the fun part; pictures below!

More fun facts:

- Nelly flubbed his lines the most. He kept apologizing to the crowd and saying he couldn’t read well and that he was no host.

- Since we were at the end of the runway, Jeff was treated to a lot of butt shots.

- Models aren’t perfect! A lot of them had scratches on their legs, cellulite, and dry skin.

- They had 2 skinny models walk in the plus size clothes show. I wonder if the plus size models hated them.

- I now understand a little of why some stars go crazy. It can get boring filming something…lots of just standing around and waiting.
